Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Explainedly ("Explainedly," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use Explainedly Social Media Automation (the "Service"). The Service helps users prepare and publish content from supported publishing platforms, including Blogger, to social-media services selected by the user.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Explainedly Social Media Automation application, its website, connected-account features, and related support. It does not replace the privacy policies of Blogger, Google, Pinterest, or any other third-party platform you choose to connect.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account and contact information that you submit to create or manage the Service.
• Configuration choices, such as a connected blog, content mapping, destination preferences, and approval decisions.
• Messages and information you provide when requesting support, access, correction, or deletion.

Connected-account authorization

When you connect a third-party account, the Service uses that provider's official authorization process, such as OAuth. We receive authorization tokens that permit the Service to perform only the actions you approve. We do not receive or store your Pinterest, Google, or Blogger password.

Blogger content

When you connect or configure a Blogger source, the Service may process post identifiers, titles, canonical links, publication dates, excerpts, image URLs, image alternative text, labels, and publication status. We process this information to prepare the social-media content that you review and approve.

Pinterest information

With your authorization, the Service may access your Pinterest boards and Pins through Pinterest's official API so that you can select a destination and publish a Pin. Except for authorization credentials and information you deliberately provide as Service configuration, we do not retain information retrieved from Pinterest's API. We request current information from Pinterest when it is needed to provide the Service.

Technical information

We may collect limited technical records such as request timestamps, IP address, browser type, device information, error messages, workflow status, and security events. These records help us operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Connect accounts at your direction and maintain authorized sessions.
• Detect eligible Blogger posts and prepare proposed social-media content.
• Show you a preview and obtain your approval before publishing each Pin.
• Publish content to the board and account you select.
• Prevent duplicate submissions, provide status information, and retry temporary failures.
• Provide support, protect accounts, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information or information obtained through platform APIs. We do not use Pinterest information to advertise to people outside Pinterest, combine it with information from other users, or provide competitor research.

4. User Direction and Publishing Controls

The Service does not ask for your third-party passwords. Connecting an account does not by itself publish content. Before a Pin is published, the Service presents the proposed image, title, description, destination, and source link for your review. You choose whether to approve that Pin. You may disconnect an account or stop using the Service at any time.

5. When We Share Information

We disclose information only as needed to operate the Service, at your direction, or as required by law. This may include:

• Google and Blogger: to retrieve content from a blog you connect or identify.
• Pinterest: to authorize your account, retrieve current board information, and publish a Pin you approve.
• Infrastructure providers: service providers that host the application, store authorization credentials and configuration, monitor errors, or deliver network services.
• Legal and safety disclosures: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect users and the public.
• Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

Service providers may process information only for the services they provide to us and subject to contractual or legal obligations.

6. Storage and Retention

Authorization tokens and account-connection settings are retained while the connection remains active so that the Service can operate. User-created configuration is retained until it is deleted, the account is disconnected, or the Service is no longer needed. Operational and security logs are retained only for a reasonable period needed for troubleshooting, security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. We may retain limited records longer when required by law or necessary to resolve disputes.

When you disconnect a third-party account or request deletion, we delete or de-identify the associated stored authorization credentials and Service configuration within a reasonable period, except for information we must retain for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. These include restricted access, encrypted network connections, secret management, authorization-state validation, and access controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You may disconnect connected services through the Service or through the applicable provider's account settings. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

9. International Processing

The Service and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users must also meet the minimum age requirements of each connected platform and applicable law.

11. Third-Party Services

Your use of connected platforms remains subject to their own terms and privacy policies. Explainedly is an independent service and is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Pinterest, Google, or Blogger unless expressly stated otherwise.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Service, law, or our data practices. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
